# Beginner Tips

Crimson Moon launched September 1, 2026. As of launch, the official sources (Steam page + 7 Steam News posts) give us the following confirmed mechanics:

## Confirmed mechanics

From the Steam store description:
- Blood-soaked Melée Combat — the game is a melee-focused action game
- High Risk, High Reward Missions — every run has stakes
- Evolving Nephilim powers — your character's abilities change during a run
- Dynamic difficulty scaling — you can set the difficulty per mission, and higher difficulty = better rewards
- War Table planning — strategic mission selection between runs

## What we do not yet know

Without player testing or in-game footage analysis, we cannot tell you:
- Specific button inputs or control schemes
- Optimal weapon choices
- Stat priorities
- Boss attack patterns
- Loot rarity tiers

## What you can do today

1. Read the official updates under /updates/ — the dev team has posted 7 detailed gameplay explainers between June and August 2026
2. Watch the trailer on the Steam page — it shows real combat mechanics
3. Plan your first run using what the official Steam description tells you about the loop (home base → city → missions → home base)
