Helpful Resources: Runs, Loadouts & Gear

Released September 2, 2026 — one day after launch. Team Metal addresses two recurring points of confusion in launch-day community feedback: why the Loadout Station is sometimes unavailable, and why Purified gear can change rarity.

Why the Loadout Station is unavailable

"If you've returned to Sanctus Clypeus and the Loadout Station is unavailable or appears above you, you're still in an active run."

A full run consists of three missions followed by a World Boss. Returning to Sanctus Clypeus between those missions does not end your run — the Loadout Station remains locked until you either complete the full run or die.

This explains a confusing launch-day experience: players returning to base mid-run expected to swap gear, only to find the Loadout Station disabled.

Why Purified gear changes rarity

Per the dev post (which the wiki summarizes):

"We've also seen some confusion around Purification, gear..."

Purified gear inherits the rarity state from the run it was found in. This means:
- A Rare piece Purified stays Rare
- If the rarity was upgraded mid-run via Boons or Anvils, the Purified version reflects the final rarity
- Rarity changes between Purification and re-equip are not random — they reflect the in-run state

Where to learn more

The dev post links to the wiki for the full explanations:

This was an unusual moment — a dev post directly linking to a fan wiki for in-depth explanations.

Why this matters

"We've also noticed that some things being reported as bugs are actually game systems that we recognise aren't currently explained clearly enough in-game. That's on us to communicate better."

Team Metal is acknowledging that the launch docs were insufficient. The wiki fills in the gaps with structured, sourced material.
