Sanctus Clypeus — The Divine Shield

Sanctus Clypeus is the home base in Crimson Moon. Per the official Gameplay Explained: Welcome to Sanctus Clypeus post:

"Every hunt begins at Sanctus Clypeus. The headquarters of the Knights of the Crimson Moon, Sanctus Clypeus is your home between adventures into the fallen city of Gildenarch."

It is also known as the Divine Shield — an ancient stronghold.

History

The stronghold was once known as Crimson Hall. Today, the Knights of the Crimson Moon and the Lunitarian Church coexist there, working together under an uneasy alliance in service of a common cause.

What you do here

After completing a hunt, you return to Sanctus Clypeus to:

  • Upgrade your equipment

  • Refine your build

  • Speak with key allies (see NPCs below)

  • Prepare for the challenges ahead

  • As your adventure progresses, you unlock additional characters and services within Sanctus Clypeus.

    The War Table

Every new hunt begins at the War Table. This is where you choose your next destination, selecting from the different Wards scattered throughout Gildenarch. Each Ward presents its own challenges, enemies, and rewards.

    The Loadout Station

Before every hunt, you visit the Loadout Station to prepare your Nephilim for battle:

  • Equip weapons and armour from your collection

  • Stock up on consumables

  • Choose the Angel you'll take into battle

  • Every decision shapes the hunt ahead — preparing for a difficult boss, experimenting with a new weapon, or building a loadout to tackle Gildenarch with a friend.

    Named NPCs (confirmed official)

Sanctus Clypeus is home to four allies who support your journey throughout the game:

    Gallant

"Founder of the Knights of the Crimson Moon, Gallant is a legendary Nephilim who serves as your mentor and commander. He'll guide your journey, offer bounty quests, and prepare you for the battles ahead."

    Mereda

"The Order's resident historian, Mereda is driven by an obsession to uncover the forgotten history of Eden. Recover Lore Scrolls during your hunts and she'll reward your discoveries with powerful Boons, while also offering Blessings in exchange for Souls."

    Lotte

"A thrill-seeking treasure hunter whose search for forbidden relics came at a terrible cost, Lotte keeps the Knights supplied for the road ahead. Visit him to stock up on trinkets, throwables and consumables before every hunt."

    Gajov

"A fearsome vampire blacksmith whose legendary craftsmanship is matched only by his turbulent past. Bring Gajov your equipment to increase its rarity, or acquire new gear in exchange for Souls."

    Currencies mentioned

  • Souls — Spent at Mereda (Blessings) and Gajov (gear upgrades + new gear)

  • Lore Scrolls — Found in hunts, traded to Mereda for Boons

  • The Blacksmith (Gajov)

Per the official PlayStation Blog post (February 2026) ↗, players can "forge new armor and weapons at the Blacksmith" at Sanctus Clypeus. The Blacksmith is the game's name for what the dev-post NPC list calls Gajov — a vampire blacksmith whose legendary craftsmanship matches his turbulent past.

The War Table and the Infernal Legion

The War Table is described in the same PlayStation Blog post as the place where:

"...the War Table unveils new quests and escalating threats shaped by the Infernal Legion's advance. The ongoing invasion by the Infernal Legion makes every run a ritual of resistance where mastery, momentum, and mythic combat collide."

So the War Table is more than just a hunt selector — it tracks a story-side escalation. As the Infernal Legion advances, new content unlocks.

    The Dead Gods

The same post confirms Dead Gods as the targets you confront:

"Each mission reinforces the weight of the Nephilim's charge: push back the Legion, confront the Dead Gods, and restore humanity's last stronghold."

Specific Dead God names have not yet been published in any official source. The wiki will update this section once they appear.

    Naming note

The September 1, 2026 launch description refers to this same home base as The Church. The two names refer to the same place — the earlier pre-release Steam News post (June 2026) uses "Sanctus Clypeus" while the launch description uses "The Church." The wiki uses the launch description's naming for new content and references the earlier dev post here for players who encountered the older name.
