Crimson Moon Patch 1.0.0.1 — Alpha Keybinding & Mouse Sensitivity
Patch 1.0.0.1 (build 162350) ships Alpha keyboard remapping and mouse sensitivity for PC, two days after launch. Camera, progression loss, and UI scaling named as next.
Crimson Moon Patch 1.0.0.1
September 3, 2026 — build 162350. Two days after launch, ProbablyMonsters shipped the single most-requested PC feature: keyboard and mouse remapping. The developer explicitly chose to release an unfinished version early rather than hold it.
"Patch 1.0.0.1 has passed testing and we've decided to put our Alpha implementation of keybinding support into your hands now, rather than make you wait for the full, polished version."
What shipped
- Rebind all available actions — full keyboard remapping, not preset layouts
- Revert bindings to defaults — undo without reinstalling
- Mouse sensitivity controls — the second-most-requested PC option
Where to find it: Settings Menu → Keyboard → select the custom keyboard profile (click the left arrow).
What is not in this version yet
Team Metal was direct that this is a first pass, not the final feature:
- Multiple bindings — assigning more than one key to the same action
- Double-tap inputs — assigning actions to quickly pressing a key twice
- Hold inputs — assigning actions to holding a key down
Why it shipped this fast
Keybinding was already planned for PC but held at launch while remaining issues were resolved. The launch-week reaction changed the order of operations.
"Your feedback reinforced that getting these options into your hands should be a priority, so the team has been working to get them ready as quickly as possible."
Missing key remapping was the dominant complaint in launch-week Steam reviews — see our review theme breakdown, where keybinding appears in 112 of 483 tagged reviews. The developer had already acknowledged it on September 1 in An Update on PC Keybinding.
What is next
The post names the specific issues the team is actively working through for the next patch:
- Camera improvements
- Progression loss
- UI scaling settings and improvements
- Game crashes
- Additional controller layout options
"The team is actively working through these now, and we'll have more to share on the next patch soon. We won't keep you waiting long."
Those five items line up closely with the highest-negative-share themes in launch-week reviews — camera and progression loss in particular are the two issues that positive reviewers also flag.
