Crimson Moon Launches September 1 — Editions Revealed

Originally posted 18 July 2026. Source: Steam News

This is the post that locks in the date and the price. If you have been waiting for a reason to pre-order or to clear your calendar, this is the post.

The date

"We're excited to announce that Crimson Moon launches on September 1, 2026."

September 1. Tuesday. Probably picked because late-summer launch windows catch the post-Summer-Game-Fest attention spike and avoid competing with the AAA September deluge (which usually starts after Labor Day in the US). Smart scheduling.

Standard Edition — $19.99

The base game. Includes the full campaign, 2-player online co-op, all 9 gear slots, all four build axes (gear / Weapon Arts / Boons / Angels). No microtransactions mentioned. No battle pass.

For a ProbablyMonsters-developed gothic action-RPG of this scope, $19.99 is aggressive. It is roughly half the price of a typical AAA launch and well below the $29.99 mid-market indie norm.

Deluxe Edition — $29.99

The Deluxe adds:
  • Ceremonial Armor Set — visual + likely stat set.

  • Axe of the Gods — weapon, presumably with a unique Weapon Art.

  • Post-launch Expansion — content drop after launch, scope not specified.

  • If the post-launch expansion is meaningful (think Hades's post-launch content cadence), $29.99 is a strong deal. If it is a token gesture, skip it. We will know within the first month of release.

"Already own the Standard Edition? You'll be able to upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for $10."

The $10 upgrade path is good. You do not have to commit early. Buy Standard, decide after launch.

    The trailer

The post mentions a brand-new Release Date Trailer. The trailer is on the Steam store page and the official YouTube channel. If you have not watched the Summer Game Fest trailer yet, this is the better one — more polish, clearer combat reads, more atmospheric.

What this post does NOT cover

  • System requirements — Steam store page has them, but not this post.

  • Achievements — locked until launch.

  • Day-one patch notes — to be released just before September 1.

  • Worth bookmarking the dev log index so you can find those when they drop.
