Hotfix 1.0.2 — Co-op, Saves, Boons & Weapon Arts

Team Metal's biggest update since launch. Hundreds of fixes across saves and progression, co-op, combat, Boons and Weapon Arts, crashes, performance, and camera. Lore Scrolls now collectable in co-op. Steam Deck controls and PC keybind backup fixes. PC keybinding still lands in Patch 1.1, not here.

# Hotfix 1.0.2 — Co-op, Saves, Boons & Weapon Arts

Released September 30, 2026. This is Team Metal's third post-launch drop and the largest yet — covering hundreds of fixes across save and progression safety, co-op, combat balance on Boons and Weapon Arts, crashes, performance, and camera. PC keybinding is still on track for Patch 1.1 (see the One Month in Gildenarch post for context), not 1.0.2.

The short version: you can now collect Lore Scrolls in co-op, run-saves don't bleed across characters the way they used to, several common co-op failure modes are gone, and Boons and Weapon Arts you may have written off (Angelic Bulwark, Brewmaster, Shield of Many, and friends) should now behave the way their descriptions say.

## Highlights

- Co-op: Major fixes for Quickplay, joining games, progression, dealing damage, parrying, and several issues that could leave players stuck or unable to continue.
- Saves & progression: Fixed cases where progress and unlock info could incorrectly carry between different save files, plus safer overwriting-save behavior.
- Lore Scrolls in co-op: The second player can now collect them; related quests no longer stall for player two.
- "Clear the Area" objectives: More reliable — fixes for enemies that failed to spawn or never made it to you, which could softlock the objective.
- Stuck-out-of-world: Numerous locations where players could get stuck in the environment or fall through the world are closed off.
- Boons & Weapon Arts: Big tuning + bug pass — see the per-Boon breakdown below for the names Team Metal called out (Angelic Bulwark, Brewmaster, Aftershock Technique, Avenging Pestilence, Shield of Many, Pyromancer, Impaling Throw).
- Co-op downed/revive: Improved feedback and fewer issues when downed or being revived.
- Crashes and performance: Across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam Deck — including several boss encounters that were suffering stability hits.
- Steam Deck: Controls and UI fixes specifically targeted at the handheld experience.

## Patch notes highlights

### Co-op

- Quickplay: fixed issues where the wrong session or no session would be joined.
- Joining: fixed late-join cases that could leave the client desynced from host state.
- Progression: fixes for gear not syncing when joining mid-run, and for quest state diverging between host and client.
- Combat in co-op: damage application and parry reliability improvements across weapons and Boons.
- Resolved several "stuck in menu / unable to continue" failures during transitions.

### Saves and progression

- Progress and unlock information no longer carries incorrectly between separate save files.
- Overwriting an existing save is safer in the failure modes that caused silent resets.
- Save rolling-back behavior (introduced in 1.0.1) handles additional corruption edge cases.

### Lore Scrolls

- Both players can now collect Lore Scrolls in co-op. The earlier behavior could lock out player two and stall related quests.

### Objectives and world

- Clear the Area: enemies now spawn and path correctly in more cases; soft-locks tied to failing spawns are resolved.
- Multiple fall-through-world and stuck-out-of-level locations are closed off. Specific maps and coordinates are being added to the world issues page as reports come in.

### Boons and Weapon Arts

- Angelic Bulwark — fixed cases where the absorb window didn't trigger correctly under burst damage.
- Brewmaster — fixed a stacking issue that could exceed intended caps.
- Aftershock Technique — resolved a hit-detection miss against large enemies.
- Avenging Pestilence — fixed DOT application timing.
- Shield of Many — correctly persists through the first host swap.
- Pyromancer — fixed an early-ignite cancel.
- Impaling Throw — fixed a piercing loss against armored enemies.
- Plus additional fixes not enumerated in the public post.

### Camera

- Continued work on large stationary bosses and interior occlusion; the in-development backlog carries over to Patch 1.1.

### Crashes, performance, Steam Deck

- Reduced crashes across several boss encounters and ambient transitions.
- Performance passes across multiple levels; frame-time jitter on mid-spec hardware improved in known hotspots.
- Steam Deck: control layout fixes, UI scaling on the 1280×800 panel, fixes for occasional loss of menu input after suspend/resume.

## What this hotfix does not include

- PC keybinding — confirmed deferred to Patch 1.1. The team's reasoning is captured in the One Month in Gildenarch post.
- Crossplay between platforms is still tracked under a separate effort.
