Crimson Moon Bosses & Enemies — Vessels, Dead Gods, and Infernal Legion
The six Vessels, three Dead Gods, and confirmed enemy types in Crimson Moon. Cites launch screenshots, dev posts, and the developer-run Crimson Moon Wiki.
Crimson Moon Bosses & Enemies
Crimson Moon has three tiers of hostile entities: trash mobs (the Infernal Legion's rank and file), Vessels (mid-run mini-bosses), and Dead Gods (the end-of-Ward bosses). Names for the Vessels and Dead Gods are surfacing community-side; the Infernal Legion's broad categories are confirmed by official sources.
The three tiers
| Tier | Role | How many | Where they appear |
|---|---|---|---|
| Infernal Legion | Trash + elites | 4 confirmed categories, 7 enemy types (community-claimed) | Every mission |
| Vessels | Mini-bosses (elite encounters) | 6 (community-claimed) | Mid-run in each Ward |
| Dead Gods | End-of-Ward bosses | 3 (community-claimed) | The final mission of each Ward |
Infernal Legion — confirmed enemy types
Per the official Steam store page and PS Blog:
"The city of Gildenarch has fallen. Once a holy jewel, it is overrun by demons, undead, vampires, and Hellgrowth abominations."
Demons
Front-line shock troops. The "Hellgrowth" descriptor in some launches refers specifically to demon-type enemies with plant / corruption-themed mutations.
- Affixes: Status-effect resistance (varies per type)
- Source: Steam store page ↗
Undead
Skeleton-type enemies with mid-tier health pools. Some launch into melee; others are ranged casters.
- Affixes: Often vulnerable to Sunderance (status effect)
- Source: Steam store page
Vampires
Mid-to-late-game enemy type with dodge and parry AI. Vampires appear concentrated in Archspire Cathedral per launch screenshots and crimsonmoons.wiki.
- Affixes: Often have parry-immunity on harder difficulties
- Source: Steam store page + Archspire Cathedral screenshots
Hellgrowth abominations
Corruption-themed enemies — plant / fungal / flesh-anomaly hybrids. The boss screenshot of "a hulking pale creature in a poison cloud over blood-red ritual markings" matches the developer-run wiki's description of The Warden, a "composite of mutated limbs grafted together."
- Affixes: Poison DoT aura (per launch screenshot)

Additional community-claimed enemy types (unverified)
crimsonmoonguide.online lists seven enemy types. Beyond the four confirmed above, community play has surfaced:
- Elites — beefed-up trash with affixes
- Ranged casters — fire / dark-magic variants
- Succubus-type — fast melee + charm (unverified)
- Mini-bosses — encounter-defining elites
These are community-claimed and not yet in any first-party source.
Vessels — 6 mid-run mini-bosses (names unverified)
Vessels are mid-run mini-bosses — "elite encounters" in the developer's terminology — that gate progression through a Ward. The developer-run Crimson Moon Wiki lists six; individual names are still being confirmed by community play.
| # | Vessel | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | *(unconfirmed)* | Will be added when name surfaces |
| 2 | *(unconfirmed)* | |
| 3 | *(unconfirmed)* | |
| 4 | *(unconfirmed)* | |
| 5 | *(unconfirmed)* | |
| 6 | *(unconfirmed)* |
What we know about the role: Each Ward has at least one Vessel encounter gating a Nexus Gate choice. They drop specific weapons (per the developer-run wiki, every Vessel has a signature weapon drop). Per How Runs Work, Vessel fights are where the build identity starts to matter — your Frost or Bleed or Poison scaling decides whether you can break their poise.
Dead Gods — 3 end-of-Ward bosses
The Dead Gods are the three end-of-Ward bosses. The developer-run Crimson Moon Wiki lists them by category; specific names are confirmed for one (Tyrigon) and surfacing for the others.
| # | Dead God | Where | Confirmed? |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | **Tyrigon, Spawn of the Black Aeon** | Archspire Cathedral | ✅ Confirmed (dragon, named in crimsonmoonguide.online) |
| 2 | E'frae *(community-claimed)* | The Ashveil (likely) | 🟡 Community-claimed — "a magnificent stag of bark and amber blood" per crimsonmoonguide.online, matching a launch screenshot |
| 3 | The Warden | *(unconfirmed)* | 🟡 Community-claimed — "composite of mutated limbs grafted together," matches a launch screenshot |
Tyrigon, Spawn of the Black Aeon
A dragon whose breath attack sweeps timber halls in two-player co-op. Confirmed via launch screenshot showing "a dragon breathes a beam of blue fire across a timber hall toward two red-armored Nephilim."
- Where: Archspire Cathedral
- Mechanic: Wide horizontal breath attack; lock-on improvements for large stationary bosses shipped in Hotfix 1.0.1 explicitly name Tyrigon.

E'frae (community-claimed)
"A magnificent stag of bark and amber blood." Matches the launch screenshot of "a towering creature of bark and branches looming over an armored Nephilim with a sword and shield in front of a gothic city under a purple sky."
- Where: The Ashveil (likely)
- Source: crimsonmoonguide.online (community wiki)
The Warden (community-claimed)
"A composite of mutated limbs grafted together." Matches the launch screenshot of "a hulking pale creature standing in a poison cloud over blood-red ritual markings inside a dark chamber."
- Where: (unconfirmed)

Status-effect resistance affixes
Bosses in Crimson Moon roll resistance affixes that modify how each status effect interacts with them. Per launch-week community discussion:
- Frost-resistant bosses ignore the slow portion of Frost (still take DoT)
- Marked-immune bosses are designed as anti-burst encounters — your Marked + burst combo will underperform
- Sunderance-immune bosses require raw damage windows instead of shred-and-burst
Per player-tips guide, the boss-resistance system is the single most-mentioned "this isn't a bug" complaint in launch-week Steam discussion.
