Crimson Moon Angels — Companion Overview
Angels in Crimson Moon are the Nephilim's supernatural companions — classless build pillars that provide transformation mechanics, Sigils, and Angel Ascension.
Angels — Companion Overview
The Angels are the Nephilim's supernatural companions — they manifest as transformations during combat, swapping your Weapon Arts for Angel Sigil abilities while the Angel Ascension meter is charged.
This page is an NPC-style overview of the Angel system; the full mechanical breakdown lives at Angels.
What Angels are
Per the How Builds Work dev post:
Angels are the Nephilim's supernatural companions — they manifest as transformations during combat and provide Sigil abilities that replace Weapon Arts while active.
In plain terms: Angels are the active-window build pillar. Your weapon defines the base identity, your Boons at Nexus Gates extend it, and your Angel is the transformation you press when the meter is full.
The two confirmed forms
- Aegis — defensive transformation; cleanses debuffs on activation. See Angels.
- Sunder — offensive transformation; compounds with Sunderance. See Angels.
Full mechanical breakdown at Angels.
Unlocked at
- Level 5: First Angel form chosen (either Aegis or Sunder path)
- Level 10: Second Angel unlocked — can swap between forms freely between Ward runs
See Level Unlocks.
In-fiction role
Per Story & Lore, Nephilim are human-angel hybrids created specifically to fight the Infernal Legion. The Angel transformation is the divine half of that hybridity expressing itself — a deliberate release of supernatural power that lets the Nephilim fight on terms no human could.
